Looking back at my passion project
A year since its first appearance

This project has been a passion project since childhood. It was always stuck in my soul until the moment I decided to make something out of it and bring it into this reality. I was very unsure if I wanted to do it, since it’s a very personal project that helped me get through a lot and deal with conditions beyond my understanding.
Pathfinder was an extremely difficult project to make. It took me 2 and a half years to create, from brain storm to the final 3D animation pilot. Looking back at this pilot, I realized that I share a lot of similarities with both Pointer, the robot, and Leah, the girl. Both of them have uncertainties and doubts, but both of them are curious. Pointer wants to help. Leah wants to find her correct path.
I realized that, during the time I wrote the story and was busy animating, I enjoyed it more than the final animation, as I missed seeing the 3D scene where Pointer and Leah are in the forest, sitting and looking at each other, with the campfire lighting the place between them while everything outside of it is pure black, unknown of what might be there. Or the moments when I was rendering and rocks or trees were floating in the air, and I had to redo the whole thing, with a desktop computer being really slow because the scene had mountains too heavy to handle hahaha!
Pathfinder is the first animation story I’ve ever created, and looking back at its appearance a year ago, it was exhausting, difficult, and endless, but it was also a very creative, fun, and valuable experience.
// Now, the future of this world waits, and I’m eager to expand it with more stories! //
